Stryker’s Sustainability Solutions Research and Development team is seeking to hire a Senior Engineer, R&D to work on new product introduction design and development in Tempe, AZ. This role supports the execution of assigned project elements with an emphasis on the support of authentication technology. This role is focused on the electronics aspects of reprocessing including hardware/software design, test method development, fixture design, fabrication and qualification, and monitoring.

**What you will do:**

+ Design and development of electrical components, sub-systems, and/or systems for medical devices.

+ Provide engineering support for new product and process introductions, ensuring that all activities are completed and documented in accordance with the Stryker new product development procedures.

+ Work in a hands-on manner at the manufacturing site to support the implementation of new processes as specified in development.

+ Execute design controls associated with design changes and product launches.

+ Support design changes that would necessitate updates to hardware, software, approach, new fixtures, etc.

+ Conduct qualifications, validation, and MSA studies for new products and new processes.

+ Assist in the selection of components and equipment based on analysis of specifications, reliability, and regulatory requirements.

+ Act as liaison between R&D and Operations teams, supporting the transfer of proof-of-concepts into production solutions.

**What you need:**

**_Required Skills/Education_**

+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering

+ 2+ years of relevant work experience

+ Basic level understanding of chipset architecture, designs, and methods

+ Demonstrated experience with electro-mechanical and software-based system troubleshooting and root cause analysis

**_Preferred:_**

+ Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, products, and process design

+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Software

+ Experience in an FDA-regulated or regulated industry

+ Experience with database methodologies and integration into production equipment
