    WSP is currently initiating a search for a **Vice President** – **West Region of our Fire and Life Safety (FLS)** Team to be located in the **Denver, CO, Phoenix, AZ, Seattle, WA, or any of these California offices: San Francisco, Irvine, San Diego, and Los Angeles.**

    This opportunity provides oversight of the FLS Team in the West Region with various responsibilities including, but not limited to, developing new opportunities with existing clients, developing new client relationships, leading multi-disciplinary project delivery as project manager/point of contact, working with local FLS office leadership to mentor and build staff in existing offices, developing FLS strategic plan initiatives to promote the growth of the FLS practice both financially and staff-wise, establishing new office locations and markets as part of the FLS strategic plan, and developing a full understanding and competency of the WSP financial systems.

    Your Impact

    + Oversees the development and progress of local FLS leadership for the region.

    + Responsible design authority for Fire Protection within the region in accordance with WSP USA standards and guidelines.

    + Responsible for regional business development which should focus on FLS and include other WSP services whenever possible.

    + Acts as a mentor for staff to assist in the development of their leadership, technical knowledge, project management capabilities, and familiarity with WSP policies and systems.

    Who You Are

    **Required Qualifications**

    + Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related discipline required; Master’s degree preferred

    + At least 10 years’ experience in supervisory and project management capacity.

    + 12+ years of experience or equivalent fire and life safety consulting experience and qualifications

    + Experience in various types and sizes of projects including healthcare, science and technology, healthcare, high rise commercial office and high-end high rise residential, hospitality, educational and mission critical.

    + Experience and proven ability to manage projects and team in a fire consultancy environment

Implementation Management: Plans and coordinates application implementations, version upgrades, vendor update packages and application enhancements. Understands and utilizes the IT Project Management toolset for the successful completion of initiatives. Acts as an advisor and ensures compliance with established release and change management procedures for testing, documenting, and communicating system changes. Contributes to the Application Portfolio strategy by providing platform, presentation and deployment recommendations that align with organizational objectives and best practices. Actively participates in all phases of application lifecycle management. Process Development, Ownership and Oversight: Develops IT Applications processes for key functions in order to drive more efficient, effective and successful outcomes. Provides overall ownership, oversight, and ongoing process improvement of application implementation methodologies. Mentors and provides subject matter expertise on established processes and best practices. Educates and champions concepts to IT staff and leaders as well as customer stakeholders. Technical Coordination: Translates project goals into detailed application and technical tasks. Monitors tasks for successful completion throughout the project lifecycle. Acts as a liaison between the application and technical resources as it relates to assigned application initiatives. Responsible for environment management including strategy development, usage decisions and ongoing operations. Teamwork, Collaboration, Professionalism and Leadership: Demonstrates the ability to facilitate meetings with all levels of stakeholders to prioritize needs, set expectations and bring new functionality/design for review. Comfortable working in a matrix resource environment and influencing people through collaboration and mutual trust. Proactively anticipates problems and provides solutions/suggestions as needed. Ability to work with teams of various sizes that may include peers, managers, vendors, customers and consultants. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree or 4 years' work related experience Degree in Healthcare, Business, Information Systems (IS), Computer Science, or related field Required Experience 5 years of healthcare, consulting, or IT related experience that demonstrates an advanced understanding of the standard tools, workflow processes, and/or procedures and concepts used in the deployment and development of application software necessary to run the healthcare systems business, clinical or financial systems.
